Carl has been passionate about volleyball since his freshman year of high school. By his junior year, he earned a spot on the varsity team and was named to the All-State All-Tournament Team. Unfortunately, his senior season was cut short due to COVID-19, but his commitment to the game never wavered.
He went on to attend Maryville University, earning a degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education. While there, Carl missed the intensity of competitive volleyball — so he founded and coached the men’s club team at Maryville, building a program from the ground up and helping new athletes develop into a tournament-ready team.
Carl began coaching right after high school with his former club and now brings 5 years of coaching experience, including assistant roles with 18s and 14s, head coaching 14s, and leading a high school JV team. His drive, leadership, and teaching mindset make him a great fit for the Power VBC coaching staff.
We’re excited to have Coach Carl bringing energy and insight to the court this season!
